Center for Independent Living is a growing and dynamic community enrichment, learning, and advocacy center. They provide individualized counseling, advocacy efforts, skill-building classes, recreation and arts programming.They help individuals with disabilities build their skills, advocate for what they need, find friends, and feel at home. Over fifty percent of their staff, board members and volunteers are people with disabilities.
Independent Living Aids has hundreds of products for individuals with disabilities.The goal of this company is to help their customers remain independent. Most of their products are geared toward individuals with vision or hearing loss. Some of these items include large print items, vibration alerts, strobe lights, oven rack pushers and food bumpers that prevent food from sliding off your plate.
Disability Network/Michigan is a collaborative organization representing Centers for Independent Living (CILs) throughout the state. Disability Network/Michigan works to assist CILs in building the capacity to serve their local communities,provide information, technical assistance, staff trainings and program support to CILs, advocate at the state and national level for disability issues, promote the independent living philosophy both within the disability community and among the general public and bring the CILs together to work collectively; resulting in a stronger network and stronger individual CILs.

Progressive Center for Independent Living offers referral and information services, emergency preparedness training, transition services for students, community opportunities, and independent life skills training. The emergency preparedness brings awareness to all the resources available to help people with disabilities in planning and dealing with emergencies in the community. This program helps train first responders, police, EMS, and firefighters in safe and practical solutions for emergencies that are directly involved with individuals who have both physical and hidden disabilities.
